Elena Landínez was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She studied Graphic Design at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Bogotá, Colombia.

She creates surreal characters inspired by everyday life in Colombia.
She is a collector of old and ordinary things like stamps, photos, envelopes, and maps. With these materials, she makes collages and drawings adding typography to most of them.

In 2007 Elena created OLIVIA POOK, a brand and a project that is inspired in handmade collage and that calls attention to everyday things like notebooks, agendas, notecards, and bags. Currently she lives in Bogotá and is a member of the project Residencia en la Tierra.

*Residencia en la Tierra (Residence on Earth) was founded in 2009 with the purpose of establishing points of contact between various artistic disciplines. The main goal of Residencia en la Tierra is to offer artists, writers, researchers, curators, and art lovers in general, an atmosphere that fosters the development of works of art and creative projects. Residencia en la Tierra provides a place to reside, work, and reflect, and sponsors a wide range of artistic workshops.
