Elena Landínez was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She studied Graphic Design at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Bogotá, Colombia.

She creates surreal characters inspired by everyday life in Colombia.
She is a collector of old and ordinary things like stamps, photos, envelopes, and maps. With these materials, she makes collages and drawings adding typography to most of them.

In 2007 Elena created OLIVIA POOK, a brand and a project that is inspired in handmade collage and that calls attention towards everyday things like notebooks, agendas, notecards, and bags.
Currently she lives in Bogotá and is member of the "SOCIEDAD INVISIBLE", a group of artists (designers, painters, photographers) who create stopmotion, photography and illustration. This group of artists also publish an art magazine titled "REVISTA INVISIBLE"-------
